Position Summary

An opportunity exists for a technically qualified Service Engineer, whose responsibility will involve mechanical and electrical tasks along with on-site installation, commissioning and customer training to service new and existing clients.

 

Job Responsibilities Include

  • To install, provide breakdown service and carry out preventative maintenance as directed.
  • Attend machine breakdown calls, quickly and effectively have the equipment faults rectified.
  • Install machines, attachments, parts and equipment and ensure the operation I accordance with contracted guarantees.
  • Conduct customer training after installation/commissioning.
  • Produce a report on each new installation and commissioning job and up-date the report following associated visits.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance programs as requested by the customer.
  • Undertake troubleshooting and down-time studies to locate and correct the causes of production losses, poor product quality, scarp and other machine difficulties.
  • Survey machines to determine and recommend repairs, parts replacements to maintain efficient operating condition.
     

Required Education and Experience

  • Completion of trade qualifications, Mechanical and/or Fabrication.
  • Restricted Electrical License.
  • Previous experience with food processing equipment and systems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft software applications combined with the ability to compose professional reports would be a pre-requisite.
  • An understanding of equipment technical specifications and application to processing systems.
  • Well-developed planning and organization skills.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain excellent customer relationships.
  • Must possess a strong work ethic.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Must be physically fit to perform the inherent requirements of the role, including to be able to sit, stand, squat for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, scaffolds onto and around manufacturing machinery and manufactured goods.

 

Work Environment

  • Working in factory and office environments.
  • PPE including hearing protection is required due to noise levels in factory environments.
  • Travel interstate and locally as demanded by workload, often at short notice.
  • Be available to work outside normal working hours, including weekends as directed.
