Position Summary

Work with Research and Development (R & D) to build, test, and troubleshoot equipment prototypes.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to product solutions by sketches and via CAD drawings.
  • Review prototype design for manufacturability
  • Improvises shop aids and works to complete the fabrication of prototype equipment through coordination with manufacturing work centers.
  • Perform functions of metal worker, fitter, mechanical assembly, electrical and hydraulics. Perform welding of prototype equipment with TIG welding stainless steel products. Complete the mechanical assembly and testing of prototype equipment.
  • Develop methods of fabrication and assembly, identify necessary tooling and fixtures. Create work instructions and develop inspection standards.

Required Education and Experience

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree with 5 years welding stainless-steel in the 14ga-20ga range.
  • CAD viewers and fabrication drawings is required, 3D CAM a plus
  • Knows engineering principles, machinery, raw materials, bearings, sprockets, gear motors, variable drives and hydraulic pumps.
  • Previous experience with electro-mechanical product assemblies
